A Testimony! (Diane)

Posted on 19/10/2011
I am rejoicing today and praising the Lord for His faithfulness!
I have always known that Jesus had plans for things for me to do in my retirement.
Just over two years ago I returned from a visit to Rehema Home, Kenya feeling very unwell.
I was diagnosed with Angina, which was greatly limiting my ability to walk any where and as that was investigated I was also diagnosed with a Hyper-active Thyroid. When I had a Thyroid Scan, possible abnormal cells were detected.
I had to go back to the Lord about His words to me because I could not see myself being fit to do very much!
He reassured me that He did have plans for me "to do me good and to give me a hope and a future".
Within a month, I had a stent fitted into one of my heart arteries and have not had any more Angina pain or symptoms since then! Glenfield Hospital has discharged me.  I have returned twice to Kenya since then and even in the high altitude there my heart has been fine!
I had medication for my thyroid for about a year and have been off it for about a year; I had a follow up blood test last week and today have been completely discharged!
Today I also attended the Surgeon for my fourth Thyroid scan and all is well and He has also discharged me.
So after two years I have now been completely discharged from all hospital appointments!  I am fit and well!
Thank you for all your prayers for me!
God is faithful!

Open Doors

Posted on 16/10/2011
As a Church we support Open Doors.

The ministry of Open Doors began in 1955 when God called a young Dutchman to act on the basis of Revelation 3:2: "Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die." He went to Poland and discovered a church under threat behind the Iron Curtain, and desperately longing for the Word of God.

So Brother Andrew became God's Smuggler, taking suitcase after suitcase of Bibles to the persecuted church, facing great danger, but determined to bring encouragement and hope. He has never forgotten the words of one believer: "Your presence here with us is worth more than your ten best sermons."

Right now millions of Christians are at risk of persecution around the world. Open Doors is active in over 50 countries, supplying Bibles, leadership training, Scripture-based literacy programmes and support for Christians suffering for their faith. And we want to continue to encourage the church here to play its part: that means not only responding to the needs of the persecuted church, but also learning from their experience of what it means to follow Jesus.
